"Starpath" LP od Dream Unending & Worm

Both Dream Unending and Worm concluded the year at 20 Buck Spin in both 2021 and 2022. In 2023, the two doomed titans will now appear together on an outstanding release of cosmic duality, 'Starpath,' to complete the end-of-year hat trick.

As both bands have released one masterpiece after another in the past two years, they have become inseparably connected in the fans' imagination. And although they could not be musically further apart, there are still many similarities in their foundational pillars. And so, once again, Dream Unending and Worm will conclude the 20 Buck Spin release schedule for the year, this time together.

Dream Unending's latest tracks, 'So Many Chances' and 'If Not Now When,' logically continue the goth/post-punk elements present in their earlier releases, building on extended guitar passages, thoughtfully heavy riffs, and Justin DeTore's thundering growls. Phil Swanson, who appeared as a guest vocalist on 'Song of Salvation,' returns here. These two extensive pieces represent the most refined incarnation of where Derrick Vella and Justin DeTore are steering the ship.

Worm, as they are now known, remain a constantly shifting entity of pure virtuosic blackness. 'Ravensblood' offers vampiric black metal with icy keyboards and eerie cemetery melodies. The hauntingly atmospheric 'Midwinter Tears' conjures up a snowy gothic mood, and the concluding 'Sea of Sorrow' expresses the necromantic shredding of lead guitarist Wroth Septentrion over Phantom Slaughter's idiosyncratic black doom and immortal haunting conjurations.

Two bands, two unique approaches, an abyssal spectrum of radiant, passionate creation to the profound darkness of oblivion. Dream Unending and Worm each present over 20 minutes of new music specifically created for the joint release of 'Starpath.'
