After VARG laid their thematic and musical focus completely on their pagan roots with their last and so far most successful album 'Zeichen' (2020, #16 in the German album charts), the wolves continue on this path with their latest work undeterred and impressively manifest their reincarnation. Honest, authentic and raw - the new album 'Ewige Wacht' will be released on October 13, 2023. In addition to eleven brand new songs, the 2-CD Digipac contains an exciting bonus CD on which all songs are performed by various well-known guests, including Rotting Christ, Kanonenfieber, Alestorm, Nachtblut, Korpiklaani, Obscurity, Tyr, Forndom, Harpyie and Robse.

VARG are undoubtedly the spearhead in the German pagan scene, which has been gathering fans worldwide for 18 years of band existence and Tours throughout Europe and North America, and has always driven their fan base upwards with numerous gigs at the biggest European festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Party.San or Metalfest. Even after such a long time, Freki (vocals), Fylgja (vocals), Morkai (guitar), as well as the newcomers Ulvar (guitar, bass) and Rohgarr (drums), still manage to create sonic surprises. The change in the lineup with two highly talented and innovative musicians brings fresh wind and leads VARG into a new chapter of the band's history. Grown artistic maturity meets a unique sense of community between the band and fans, which is reflected thematically in the new album. 'Ewige Wacht' is about myths and legends of past times and transposes them into the present in the familiarly varied pagan style.

The eighth studio album transports Nordic mythology, as well as values ​​such as honesty and loyalty. VARG once again show themselves as an unbeatable unit, as already evident in the opening track 'Immer Treu'. Here it becomes clear how singer Fylgja was more involved in the individual songs this time. Her Valkyrie-like vocals expand the band's sonic spectrum and form a perfectly coordinated contrast to Freki's razor-sharp screams and growls. 'Schildmaid', 'Fylgja' and 'Eisenseite' stand as symbols for this interaction and the path that VARG have been following since 'Zeichen'. 'Weltenfeind', 'Tyr' and 'Hammer' resound as powerful anthems, uncompromising with mercilessly brutal screams and cutting riffs. The folk melodies in 'Morgenrot' lead to the epic 'Siegreiches Heer', which sharpens the idea of unity that runs like a thread through 'Ewige Wacht'. The title track forms the final highlight and combines pagan themes, haunting melodies and the captivating power of the wolves.
