Popis knihy

For 200 years, people have searched a tiny island off the coast of Nova Scotia in the search of treasures thought to be hidden beneath its surface. Many have thought that the deep, convoluted shafts on the island were constructed in the early fourteenth century by the myterious sect known as the Knights Templar. They were in danger, King Philip of France anxious to divest them of the money and artifacts they had gathered through bequests and the guardianship of the Temple of Jerusalem. The last Grand Master, Jaques de Molay, saw to the dispersal of the treasures, sending them away on the Templar fleet from La Rochelle. That much is fact, but what happened to the relics afterwards is subject to much debate. In this book the fleet head west towards uncharted lands discovered by accident, with the choicest and most precious of the relics. They need to be hidden away somewhere beyond the reach of anyone but the Templar's themselves. But this is not a land they understand. As well as the problems of surviving the wickedly bitter winters of the Eastern seaboard they have to contend with a world which will challenge every belief that they hold dear. Into this maelstrom is thrown Nicholas Fitzadam, a young knight who has only ever sought to join the Templar Order
a lad chosen by the Grand Master himself to sail to the Island of the Oaks. He will find himself questioning all he has ever held as the truth if he is to save his friends from a terrible disaster of their own creation.
