Kéraban the Inflexible - Jules Verne

Keraban is a stubborn, headstrong man from Istanbul, whose life changes all of a sudden … because of a simple tax. Keraban is a man of principles. He finds out that a new tax is required for crossing the Bosphorus by boat. However rather than paying it, he decides to take a way longer trip which will cost him more money, time and may as well put his life in danger. What will happen? Who wants to make sure that Keraban will not make it on time for another arrangement he has? Will Keraban live to find out who is the villain in the story?
