They are Bulgaria's elite, artists, athletes, performers and heroes. Six men and one woman who call themselves "The October Circle" - drawn together by their belief in communism. But in 1968 their beliefs are shattered when Czechoslovakia is invaded. The seven decide to stage a demonstration.
